We have been advised by AFL Victoria and the VFFL that all training, the 2020 football season and junior programs are to be postponed until the end of May.
There is a possblilty this may extend even further. We will follow this ruling.

Therefore, all Sunday training is cancelled immediately. There will be no Wednesday training and the Junior Development Squad will not commence until further notice.

There will also be no other club activities during this time. When the football season, football training and Junior Development squad are set to commence, we will notify you. It is too soon to know when this will happen.

Any further 2020 football registrations will not be taken at this stage. Please just hold on to your registration forms for now. We will hold any payments that have been taken. If the season were to be cancelled, we will provide a full refund.

If you have any questions, please email the club.

During this time, please keep in touch with each other and look after your mates through this time. Stay active – go for a walk and take a footy, go for a bike ride or just talk with your friends over the phone or on social media, etc.
Also remember to practice good hygiene and keep your social distance of 1.5 metres to avoid spreading germs.

We will keep you informed of further details as they come to hand.

Regards, Spiders Committee

Since 1992, the Ringwood Spiders Football Club (formerly the Ringwood Blues) has provided Australian Rules football opportunities for people with a mild to medium intellectual disability within the City of Maroondah and surrounding areas of outer eastern Melbourne. Our club has a strong position and history and has forged a long term relationship with the Maroondah City Council and other key local recreation and disability organisations.

Ringwood Spiders compete in the Victorian FIDA Football League (VFFL). Before being integrated into AFL Victoria in 2017, FIDA was formed to implement an Australian Rules football program for people with mild to medium intellectual disabilities and has been successfully run since the early 90's.

In 2013, we changed our name to 'Ringwood Spiders All-Abilities Sports Club'. This change was implemented to better reflect who we are and what we do, as we are much more than just a footy club. We now have a netball program that provides opportunities for girls as well as boys. Our Junior development squad provides opportunities for younger boys and girls to join in and have a kick of the footy, and our off season recreation program brings many different activities to our players.

Ringwood Spiders is run by volunteers with the support of Maroondah City Council and sponsors, both corporate and individual.
Enjoy browsing this website to discover what it is to be part of Ringwood Spiders as we continue on our mission:

'To provide and promote active participation in community sport and social activities for people with a disability', and
'To provide people with a disability an opportunity to interact, participate and build social skills and leadership within the community'.
