LATEST NEWS - Jubilee Park Pavilion & Precinct Redevelopments:

New Pavilion

We are very excited to announce that Stage 1 of the Jubilee Park pavilion redevelopment will commence early 2021.
In addition, the entire Jubilee Park precinct will be upgraded in several stages over the next few years.
Can you help?
The three tenant clubs, including the Spiders, need to raise funds for the fitout and furnishings of the new pavilion, and we are seeking support from the community.

Since 1992, the Ringwood Spiders Football Club (formerly the Ringwood Blues) has provided Australian Rules football opportunities for people with a mild to medium intellectual disability within the City of Maroondah and surrounding areas of outer eastern Melbourne. Our club has a strong position and history and has forged a long term relationship with the Maroondah City Council and other key local recreation and disability organisations.

Ringwood Spiders compete in the Victorian FIDA Football League (VFFL). Before being integrated into AFL Victoria in 2017, FIDA was formed to implement an Australian Rules football program for people (both men and women) with mild to medium intellectual disabilities and has been successfully run since the early 90's.

In 2013, we changed our name to 'Ringwood Spiders All-Abilities Sports Club'. This change was implemented to better reflect who we are and what we do, as we are much more than just a footy club.

Ringwood Spiders is committed to gender equity and to ensuring women and men enjoy equal opportunities to participate in our sport and club activities in an environment that is welcoming, supportive and safe.

Our Junior development squad provides opportunities for younger boys and girls to join in and have a kick of the footy, and our off season recreation program brings many different activities to our players.

We began a netball program several years ago that provided opportunities for girls as well as boys. This program has grown to now become a stand-alone netball competition.

Ringwood Spiders is run by volunteers with the support of Maroondah City Council and sponsors, both corporate and individual.

'To provide and promote active participation in community sport and social activities for people with a disability', and
'To provide people with a disability an opportunity to interact, participate and build social skills and leadership within the community'.
